Welcome to the Inventory of freely available online tools, developed within the framework of the ICT REV project of the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML). TimeGraphics, an interactive timeline creator

Timeline creators

Description: TimeGraphics is a tool for creating interactive timelines that visually represent historical events, project milestones, or personal narratives. Users can input dates, descriptions, and images to generate dynamic timelines on the platform. TimeGraphics offers a limited free version and requires users to sign up for an account to create timelines, but not for visualising them.

Evaluation: TimeGraphics is a useful tool for making interactive timelines that can be used to visually represent historical events, project milestones, or personal narratives. Its main drawback is that, with a free account, timelines are always set as public and can be accessed by anyone.

Cost: Free with registration + paid plans available.

Respect for privacy Privacy evaluations indicate how a tool handles personal data collection, storage, and sharing, including GDPR compliance and security measures, among others. The ICT-REV team provides them for informational purposes, reflecting our best understanding at the time of review, but assumes no legal responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of these evaluations and encourages users to conduct their own assessments: Medium. TimeGraphics collects non-personally identifying information such as browser type, language preference, and IP address. It gathers personally identifying information too, such as usernames and email addresses, when users interact with the service, mainly to fulfil the purpose of user interactions. TimeGraphics does not rent or sell user information to third parties. It uses cookies to identify and track visitors, monitor website usage, and collect access preferences, but users can opt out of them. Also, it mentions that potentially personally identifying information is stored on restricted database servers. TimeGraphics acknowledges users’ rights to access and correct data, together with requesting data deletion, objecting to data processing, and withdrawing consent. It complies with the GDPR.
