Timelinely, an annotator for YouTube videos

Description: Timelinely is an online tool for annotating YouTube videos. It functions by allowing users to import YouTube URLs and add annotations linked to specific moments within the video timeline. Timelinely supports text, hyperlinks, Google Maps locations, videos, or images. It is free and does not require having an account for use, although having one makes managing annotated videos easier.

Evaluation: Timelinely is a practical tool for annotating YouTube videos and adding explanations or assessment questions to them. With Timelinely, teachers can help teachers ensure students pay attention to a video by adding quiz questions and others.

Cost: Free.

Respect for privacy Privacy evaluations indicate how a tool handles personal data collection, storage, and sharing, including GDPR compliance and security measures, among others. Timelinely collects both non-personal (such as usage data and IP addresses) and personal information (such as names, email addresses, and billing information) to provide its services. It also uses cookies for various purposes, including saving passwords, delivering content specific to users' interests, and tracking visited pages. However, it does not sell, rent, or lease individual's personal information for marketing purposes. Timelinely protects personal information using firewalls and other security measures.
