Suno, an AI-powered music creation tool

Audio recordingAI content & media generation

Description: Suno is an AI-powered tool designed to create music from text prompts. It allows users to generate songs, including vocals, instrumentation, lyrics, and even artwork, by simply describing the type of song wanted. Suno is accessible via a user-friendly web-based platform, making it easy for anyone to create music without the need for any instruments. In the basic plan, Suno allows for the creation of approximately 10 songs per day. Sign-up is required for use.

Evaluation: Suno is a great tool for teachers who want to create tailored songs for the classroom, especially for listening comprehension exercises. Its intuitive interface and powerful AI capabilities make it easy and fun to use. Teachers can introduce a prompt similar to the following as a test to see what they get: “produce a salsa song in German about seasonal vegetables for beginner language learners”. However, reliance on AI-generated content can limit the personal touch and uniqueness that comes from listening to authentic human-generated audio material.

Cost: Free plan + premium options available.
