Description: La Digitale is a toolbox of completely free and open-source applications specially designed for educational purposes. These include a collaborative pinboard, a QR-code generator, a video trimmer, a flashcard creator, a digital whiteboard, and dozens more. Its website is available in French and Italian, although each tool featured on La Digitale is available in several languages. It does not require creating an account or logging in for its use. La Digitale started as a personal project of developer Emmanuel Zimmert and is collaboratively financed by individuals and supported by AFT-RN (Association des formateurs TICE - Réseau national).

Evaluation: La Digitale is a valuable and practical toolbox with many useful applications to be used in the classroom. All applications are free, open-source, and specifically catered for educators. It is also highly respectful of user privacy and does not gather personal data, making it a fantastic alternative to other tools. All in all, the ICT-REV expert team highly recommends using La Digitale.

Cost: Free.

Respect for privacy Privacy evaluations indicate how a tool handles personal data collection, storage, and sharing, including GDPR compliance and security measures, among others. The ICT-REV team provides them for informational purposes, reflecting our best understanding at the time of review, but assumes no legal responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of these evaluations and encourages users to conduct their own assessments: Very high. La Digitale is extremely respectful of user privacy, and so does not gather any log-in data or collect cookies. The minimal data it gathers is stored temporarily for a maximum of 6 months and only used for communication purposes and user provision but never shared or sold to third parties. Unfortunately, it does not mention specific security measures, but all applications are protected with a password and a secret question. It acknowledges users’ rights to access, modify, and delete data. La Digitale complies with the GDPR. See more here.
