Weebly

Principal function(s): Website/app creatorsIndividual workTeacherYou SupplyWebsite/other users supply

Weebly is a website builder platform that allows users to design and customise their websites through a drag-and-drop interface without needing to write code. To access and edit a website, users need an account and a password. Weebly offers a limited free version. It was developed by David Rusenko, Chris Fanini, and Dan Veltri in 2006 and acquired by Square Inc. in 2018. Evaluation: Weebly is an easy-to-use alternative to creating websites without advanced IT skills. Weebly websites can be highly engaging given the possibility to insert images, videos, and other file types. Interestingly, Weebly allows for collaborative work.

Cost: Free limited version with registration + paid premium plans.
