Diffit for Teachers is an AI-powered tool for creating instructional materials tailored to various levels. Teachers can introduce prompts, texts, PDF files, and online articles or YouTube URLs, input their students’ levels and language, and Diffit will produce adequate learning materials in the form of text summaries, key vocabulary words, short comprehension questions, and more. There are pull-down menus of grade level and language for quick re-versioning. Then, users can choose from the many different learning activity templates, such as bubble maps, slides, forms, and many more, to create teaching resources. Diffit supports dozens of languages and integrates with tools like Google Docs for easy content export. The platform is web-based and does not require login for trial, but having a Google account is essential for its use. Diffit was founded by developers Adam Black and Vlad Gutkovich.
Evaluation: Diffit for Teachers is an extremely valuable tool to create differentiated instructional materials. The pull-down menu by grade level allows for quick re-versioning of materials, helpful for differentiating the same material for students at varying levels, say within the same mixed-ability class. It is very time-saving, allowing teachers to adapt any text, article, or video to suit the specific needs of their students and put together complex learning activities in minutes. It is particularly useful for developing reading comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills.
