Google Forms

Principal function(s): Poll and survey creatorsQuiz/exercise makersWhole classTeacherYou Supply

Google Forms is a tool for creating online surveys and quizzes. Users can create forms by adding various types of questions, such as multiple-choice, short-answer, or drop-down questions. It also allows adding videos or background images either by uploading them from a device or using those provided by Google. Users can then share forms with others via a link, through social media, or embed them into a website. Once a form has been completed, poll creators can access the data, which is automatically collected and organised into a Google Sheets spreadsheet for analysis. Google Forms is free to use but requires a Google account to create and manage forms. However, respondents do not need an account to fill out one. Evaluation: Google Forms is a useful and straightforward tool for creating surveys and quizzes. It can help test students and get automatic grading, providing a rapid overview of their progress. It is thus a time-saving tool for teachers that can also connect with other Google tools such as Google Classrooms. Google Forms can also be employed to carry out surveys for research projects or collect feedback.

Cost: Free with a Google account.
