TED-Ed, a platform with short educational animations

Autonomous learning

Description: Ted-Ed is an online educational platform that provides interactive lessons with informative videos on a wide range of topics. It consists of short video animations put together by a variety of experts such as educators, historians, and journalists. Each of these animated videos is accompanied by questions and other resources to integrate into a lesson, which can also be customised by teachers. Ted-Ed is accessible for free and does not require having an account to visualise content, but teachers have to log in to create a lesson. TED was first developed as a conference by Richard Saul Wurma in 1984.

Evaluation: Ted-ED is a handy tool for flipped classroom approaches, offering many complementary resources to be integrated in a course. It also is a very tailorable tool since it allows teachers to introduce specific different types of questions, images, and more.

Cost: Free.
