Future Learn

Principal function(s): Autonomous learning

Future Learn is an Open Online Course (MOOC) platform based in the UK. It is owned by The Open University and offers a variety of free online short courses and degrees taught by universities all around the world. Future Learn offers courses from many fields of knowledge such as coding, foreign languages, health, mathematics, psychology and creative arts. Evaluation: Future Learn’s courses cover practically all disciplines and all content is open and free. Each course has a comments section where it is possible to ask questions and interact with other people taking the same course. Although learners have to complete classes and tasks within a deadline, they can watch the video-classes whenever they want and do the exercises at their own pace. At the end of the course, they can also obtain an official certificate from internationally renowned universities from all over the world under payment.

Cost: Free for the duration of the course and 14 extra days + paid unlimited version available / official certificate obtention on payment

High. Future Learn only collects user data and cookies necessary for its services, and solely shares it with third parties for internal use. This data is thus not sold to advertisers on the website, but is rather used for circulating e-mails and notifications. Its privacy policy mentions that information is stored on secure servers.
