easypolls

Principal function(s): Poll and survey creators

EasyPolls is a tool for creating and conducting online polls and surveys. Users can create polls by entering their questions and answer options, and then share the poll link with participants via email, social media, or other platforms. Polls can be adapted to allow multiple choice, and results can be shown in percentage or the actual vote count. Developed by Easy WebContent, EasyPolls offers both free and paid plans with additional features. While it does not require signing up or having an account to create a poll, participants may need to provide information to respond to the polls, depending on the settings chosen by the poll creator. Evaluation: EasyPolls can be a helpful tool to gather feedback, opinions, and preferences. The tool’s interface is user-friendly, both for the creator and other participants. Easypolls can also be used to test whether students are following what is being taught without examining individual knowledge. For instance, teachers could create polls with questions about related content to check whether the correct response rate is high or not. Basic IT skills are required.

Playphrase is a tool that searches specific words or phrases out of movie snippets from a database of audiovisual media with over 60,000 phrases. In this manner, it provides real-life examples of words’ and sentences’ pronunciation. Users just have to type specific phrases, watch them being used naturally in context within popular movies and TV shows, and listen to their pronunciation. Playphrase works mainly with English. Playphrase is not open-source, but it is freely available. It does not require setting up an account or signing in. ... View details
