Google Classroom, Google's platform for classroom management Google's platform for classroom management

Course management

Description: Google Classroom is an online platform designed to facilitate communication and collaboration between teachers and students. Teachers create virtual classrooms where they can share assignments, announcements, and resources with students. Students join these classrooms using a unique code provided by the teacher and can access assignments, submit work, and engage in discussions within the platform. Google Classroom is primarily designed for educators and students but can also be used by administrators and parents. It is used for managing coursework, facilitating communication, and organising class materials. While it does not specifically target linguistic skills, it can support language learning through collaborative projects, discussions, and document sharing. Google Classroom was developed by Google LLC. Google Classroom is free to use for schools, teachers, and students. Users are required to sign up for a Google account to access Google Classroom, but no additional account creation is necessary within the platform itself.

Evaluation: Google Classroom is a straightforward and valuable tool since it allows sharing files and keeps records of assignments and course content. It has both browser and app versions, so it can be used on the go. Its different features make it a versatile tool that also helps correcting homework and monitoring student progress. Google Classroom is easy-to-use, particularly for users familiar with Google’s suite of tools. Overall, it is not the most privacy-friendly course management tool, but it is very practical. It requires registration and then login for its use. Basic IT skills are required for its use.
