Description: Howjsay is an online pronunciation dictionary that provides audio recordings of words in English and other languages. Users can enter a word into the search bar on the Howjsay website, and the tool will display the word's pronunciation along with an audio recording of how it is pronounced. In addition to the pronunciation, users may find two links under words’ entries, one leading to a Wikipedia entry on its meaning, and another one leading to Google Translate. Howjsay currently offers more than 170k word pronunciations. It is free to use and does not require signing up.
Evaluation: Howjsay is a valuable and straightforward tool. Howjsay can be used by language learners, teachers, linguists, and anyone else interested in improving their pronunciation skills or learning how to pronounce specific words. Installing an ad-blocking browser extension might be recommendable as there are some advertisements on Howjsay’s interface that make it rather tedious to use. Basic IT skills required.

Howjsay does not share any personally identifying information publicly or with third parties, except when required to by law.
