Wordclouds

Wordclouds.com is a free online word cloud generator and tag cloud creator. It works on your PC, Tablet or smartphone. Paste text, upload a document or open an URL to automatically generate a word- or tag cloud. Customize your cloud with shapes, themes, colors and fonts. You can also edit the word list, cloud size and gap size. Wordclouds can also generate clickable word clouds with links (image map). When you are satisfied with the result, save the image and share it online.

Evaluation: A nice visual presentation of texts. It is a nice tool enabling creation of icons, visual messages etc. Word clouds can be made in many different languages and different shapes. It is practical as it immediately reveals the most prominent concepts of a text/webpage. Easy and intuitive to use, very basic IT skills required.
Why not use it for highlighting the most important words of a text, poem or a song or use it as a prompt for a classroom discussion?
