Hot Potatoes

A freeware suite of six apps for creating computer-based quizzes (multiple-choice, short-answer, jumbled-sentence, crossword, matching/ordering and gap-fill). It needs to be installed on your laptop for use. The products can be uploaded onto course management- systems such as Moodle.

Evaluation: Still one of the most commonly used tools for production of quizzes, tests, crosswords and other testing material for educational purposes. It may take some time to create tests, but in the long run it is a great time-saver for teachers. Average IT skills required for its use.
