Description: ScreenPal, formerly Screencast-O-Matic, is a screen recording tool for creating, editing and sharing videos. Screenpal can also capture sound so users can use it to talk over their screen recording. Moreover, Screenpal allows using a web camera simultaneously and adding text, drawings, or even background music. ScreenPal requires downloading. It does not require creating an account, but doing so has many advantages, including the possibility of managing recording recordings by saving, exporting or embedding them. It is owned by Big Nerd Software.

Evaluation: ScreenPal is a powerful screen recording tool that allows the creation of video materials, among others. With its voice-over functionality, it is suitable for creating tutorials and presentations, or even lectures and commentaries for students. Its website contains many helpful tutorials for teachers to gain an understanding of how the tool works. Screenpal’s free option has many interesting functionalities that should be enough for classroom use.
