ipadio

ipadio is a mobile app which allows teachers to make broadcasts through phone calls and then add titles, images etc to the recording if they wish. First, it is necessary to open an account linked to a phone number. Then, after calling one of the local ipadio numbers, this call will be recorded and automatically uploaded to your ipadio channel. Other users (for example your students) can have access and record to the same account if they are provided with the PIN and number of the channel.

Evaluation: ipadio can be useful for broadcasting live audio if you don't have access to a strong WiFi signal or any 3G data connection. It can also be suitable for recording phone conversations and for collecting speaking exercises from students. Nevertheless, it is advisable to check first with the phone provider to make sure that no fees will be charged after the calls. You can find a list of the local ipadio numbers here.

Cost: Free with registration
