Vocaroo, a tool to record and share voice messages online

Audio recording

Description: Vocaroo is a web-based platform for recording and sharing voice messages online. Users can record audio using their device's microphone, which can then be shared via a unique URL or embedded in websites and emails. Vocaroo is free to use and does not require users to sign up for an account.

Evaluation: Vocaroo is a straightforward and useful audio recording service that can be used by both teachers and students. In addition to recording and sharing, it also provides a web link or code to embed a recording into a webpage or blog. Moreover, it allows emailing or downloading a recording to a device. It is probably the easiest existing online tool for audio recording since it requires no registration. A disadvantage to Vocaroo is that it does not provide permanent storage, and so recordings expire after a few months. In case a file is meant to be used longer than that, it should be downloaded and saved into a computer.

Cost: Free.
