Canva, a graphic design platform

Poster/infographic creatorsSlide presenting

Description: Canva is an online graphic design platform that allows users to create a variety of graphics, such as posters, flyers, social media posts, and presentations. To do so, users can access Canva's library of templates, stock photos, illustrations, icons, and fonts, together with AI-powered design tools. Canva also offers collaboration features, allowing multiple users to work on the same project simultaneously. It offers a free version with limited features, but even so, it is a tool worth knowing. Signing up for an account is required for use. Canva was developed by Melanie Perkins and her team.

Evaluation: Canva is a valuable and easy-to-use resource for creating any type of digital content. Its interface has a clear layout and is user-friendly, while users can retrieve templates and images from an extensive default library, together with choosing from a range of fonts, symbols, and filters. The AI-powered tools can enhance the process of design by providing creative suggestions and automating certain tasks. More generally, Canva can foster creativity and encourage users to express their ideas visually, making it a valuable tool for both learners and educators in various fields. Moreover, it allows for collaborative work. Canva does not require advanced IT skills, as its drag-and-drop functionality makes it accessible to users with varying levels of technical proficiency.

Cost: Free + paid plans available.
