Inventory of ICT tools and open educational resources

Welcome to the Inventory of freely available online tools and OERs for language teaching and learning developed by the ICT REV project. The tools have been selected by and for language educators. There are different ways to search for tools and various examples below. You can also suggest a tool to be added to the Inventory.

Biteable, a video creator and editor

Description: Biteable is an online tool for creating and editing videos easily. Users can choose from a library of pre-made templates, animations, and stock footage or upload their content to create videos. Biteable offers a limited free version and requires signing up for an account. Biteable is a company based in Australia.

Evaluation: Biteable is a valuable and helpful tool for educators and learners since it simplifies video-making. It can be useful to create multimedia presentations and educational materials such as instructional videos or video presentations. Biteable does not require advanced IT skills for use.

Cost: Free limited version with registration + paid premium plans available.

Respect for privacy Privacy evaluations indicate how a tool handles personal data collection, storage, and sharing, including GDPR compliance and security measures, among others. The ICT-REV team provides them for informational purposes, reflecting our best understanding at the time of review, but assumes no legal responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of these evaluations and encourages users to conduct their own assessments: Medium. Biteable collects user data such as names, email addresses, payment information, cookies, and content created using their services, so it seems to collect more data than is strictly required for video creation. Biteable’s privacy policy shows an understanding of security concerns but it states sharing data with third parties for various purposes, including analytics and service improvement. It states compliance with GDPR and provides users based in the EU with control over their data through options to access, modify, or delete it. See more here.
