Inventory of ICT tools

Welcome to the Inventory of freely available online tools, developed within the framework of the ICT REV project of the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML). It brings together resources for language teaching and learning, selected by and for language educators. Use the filters and examples below to explore the inventory, or suggest a tool to be added.

Screenpresso, a screen capturing tool

Screen recording

Description: Screenpresso is a tool for capturing screenshots, recording screen activity, and annotating images for Windows. Users can record or capture screenshots of the entire screen, single windows, or specific areas, which can be later edited for annotations and effects. Screenpresso offers a limited free version and does not require sign-up, although logging in provides additional features. However, it requires installation. Screenpresso was developed by LearnPulse.

Evaluation: Screenpresso is a valuable tool for creating tutorials or narrating any kind of visual content, helping teachers convey information visually. Its only drawback is that it is only compatible with Windows. Screenpresso requires average IT skills for use.

Cost: Free + paid options available.

Respect for privacy Privacy evaluations indicate how a tool handles personal data collection, storage, and sharing, including GDPR compliance and security measures, among others. The ICT-REV team provides them for informational purposes, reflecting our best understanding at the time of review, but assumes no legal responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of these evaluations and encourages users to conduct their own assessments: Medium. Screenpresso collects various personal information, including name, address, email, phone number, gender, and IP address. It does so for different purposes, among which marketing. It also collects Google Analytics cookies, from which users can opt out. Screenpresso has appropriate security measures to protect user data in place, such as SSL for data encryption during data exchange. It complies with the GDPR. See more here.
