Quillbot, an AI-powered suite of writing tools

Autonomous learning

Description: QuillBot is a suite of AI-powered writing tools designed to help users rephrase, check, summarize, translate, and cite text in over 25 languages. It works by allowing users to input text, select the desired function, and then receive enhanced or rephrased output. QuillBot can be used for drafting essays, creating content, checking grammar, and more. QuillBot offers a free version and does not require signing up for basic use, though having an account provides additional functionalities. It is available as a web platform and a Chrome extension.

Evaluation: QuillBot is a valuable set of tools that assists users with different parts of the writing process, such as rephrasing, checking, summarizing, translating, and citing text. Educators can use QuillBot to run a first check on their students' writing, summarize texts, and more. Importantly, it is available in over 25 languages. QuillBot requires only basic IT skills for use.

Respect for privacy Privacy evaluations indicate how a tool handles personal data collection, storage, and sharing, including GDPR compliance and security measures, among others. The ICT-REV team provides them for informational purposes, reflecting our best understanding at the time of review, but assumes no legal responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of these evaluations and encourages users to conduct their own assessments: Medium/high. QuillBot collects personal information such as user input text, email addresses, and usage data to provide and improve its services. It may share user data with third parties for service improvement and analytics purposes. Data is stored securely using industry-standard security measures and is processed in the United States. In the event of a data breach, QuillBot has protocols to notify affected users promptly. QuillBot uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance user experience and analyze usage, allowing users to manage them through their browser settings. Users can request access to, modification, or deletion of their personal data. QuillBot provides users with control over their privacy settings and complies with GDPR. See more here.
