Babadada

Principal function(s): Autonomous learning

Babadada is an online visual dictionary that offers basic vocabulary in more than 200 languages and dialects. It includes languages such as Romani, Karelian or Chuvash. Babadada is based on a visual learning method. Words are divided into topics such as school, food and transport. Evaluation: Babadada is a valuable tool for anyone looking to improve their language skills or expand their vocabulary in a foreign language. It can be used by language learners, travellers, and educators looking for an engaging and practical way to teach vocabulary in over 200 languages. The tool is available as a website version and as mobile apps for iOS and Android. Babadada can be engaging and useful for learners because it provides illustrations and audio pronunciations to accompany translations. This feature helps learners associate words and phrases with visual cues and pronunciations, making it easier to remember and use them in conversations. Babadada is easy to use and requires minimal IT skills. Users can simply search for a word or phrase in their desired language, and the tool will provide a translation, illustration, and audio pronunciation. It is also time-saving as users do not have to spend hours looking up words in a dictionary.
