SurveyMonkey, an online survey creator

Poll and survey creators

Description: SurveyMonkey is an online survey tool for collecting feedback and data from respondents through customisable surveys. Users can create surveys using a simple interface, selecting question types and formatting options, and then distribute them via email, social media, or survey codes. SurveyMonkey features a variety of question types, such as dropdown, multiple choice, or comment box questions, together with many templates ready for use. It offers a limited free version where up to 10 questions can be made and 100 responses collected per survey. SurveyMonkey requires having an account to create and distribute surveys.

Evaluation: SurveyMonkey is a practical tool to create surveys. It can be used to gather feedback from students, assess their knowledge, or plan events. The many templates SurveyMonkey offers allow creating targeted surveys rapidly.

Cost: Free with registration + paid plans available.

Respect for privacy Privacy evaluations indicate how a tool handles personal data collection, storage, and sharing, including GDPR compliance and security measures, among others. The ICT-REV team provides them for informational purposes, reflecting our best understanding at the time of review, but assumes no legal responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of these evaluations and encourages users to conduct their own assessments: Medium. SurveyMonkey collects various types of personal data such as names or e-mail addresses and usage and device information, together with cookies. It shares data with third parties for the running of the platform and also personalised marketing, from which users can opt out. SurveyMonkey mentions considerable security measures. It also acknowledges users’ right to access, update, and delete their data. SurveyMonkey states compliance with the GDPR. See more here and here.
