Quizlet, a flashcard and quiz maker

Description: Quizlet is an online learning platform that provides tools for creating, studying, and sharing flashcards, quizzes, and study sets. Users can create custom study materials or access a vast library of pre-made content covering various subjects and topics such as languages, maths, and social sciences. After adding the content, users can choose from 10 different gaming and study modes. In Quizlet Live mode, it can also be used in the classroom as a learning/testing game where students work collaboratively. Quizlet can be used on desktop or mobile devices. It offers a limited free version and requires sign-up for creators.

Evaluation: Quizlet is a useful tool for classroom use. For teachers, it can help gauge students’ knowledge and foster collaborative work in the classroom. In the case of students, making their own flashcards can be of great help when studying autonomously. Quizlet’s website offers a lot of useful information, together with step-by-step usage guidelines. Moreover, it provides a vast library of ready-made flashcards on many topics.

Respect for privacy Privacy evaluations indicate how a tool handles personal data collection, storage, and sharing, including GDPR compliance and security measures, among others. The ICT-REV team provides them for informational purposes, reflecting our best understanding at the time of review, but assumes no legal responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of these evaluations and encourages users to conduct their own assessments: Medium. Quizlet collects different personal information, including account information, transactional information, device information, and more. It also gathers cookies for different purposes, among which marketing. Quizlet employs industry-standard security measures to protect user data. It acknowledges users’ rights to review, edit, or delete their data, as well as to delete their accounts. Quizlet states compliance with the GDPR. See more here and here.
