In early March 2026, we gathered in Graz for an intensive, two-day workshop aimed at advancing the development of the toolkit for implementing Integrated didactics in language education. The event brought together team members, an associate partner, the consultant, and 27 nominated participants to review materials, share perspectives, and establish priorities for the next phase of work.
The workshop focused on strengthening key sections of the toolkit, including teaching techniques, guidelines, and practical examples designed to support integrated language education approaches. Through group work and plenary discussions, participants identified areas where the texts could be improved with greater clarity, more concrete formulations, and additional illustrations to make the toolkit more accessible to different target groups.
An important outcome of the discussions was the decision to refine the toolkit’s overall structure so users can more easily engage with its main ideas and practical applications. The workshop provided valuable insight into how key concepts are understood differently across educational and national contexts. This helped the team sharpen shared terminology.
Another key activity was adapting the project showcase, an accessible document illustrating how integrated didactics can be implemented in practice, which will continue to be developed. In the coming months, the focus will be on revising the texts, expanding the illustrative material, and preparing digital resources to support dissemination and use.
