A microblogging tool and social networking website. Texts need to be within 160 characters.

Evaluation: The tool can be used effectively as a way to have students produce material in the target language on a daily basis. Tweets can be commented on by other users, which makes Twitter a good communication tool between teacher and students or also simply among students. Keep in mind that, as with any blogging tool, the final product is visible to all Internet users, which may be a privacy concern with underage students.Very basic IT skills required for its use.
