Welcome to the Inventory of freely available online tools, developed within the framework of the ICT REV project of the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML). PickerWheel, a spinning wheel creator

Quiz/exercise makers

Description: PickerWheel is an online tool for creating and customising spinning wheels for random selection. Users input different options or choices into the wheel, and then they can spin it to let chance decide the outcome. The choices can be not just words, but also images, numbers or phrases. It also has a shuffle function. PickerWheel is free and does not require having an account for use. Other similar options are Wheel of Names, or Hey Spinner.

Evaluation: PickerWheel is a straightforward and valuable tool for educators to use in the classroom. It can help make decisions, such as randomly selecting students to assess or topics for an oral test. PickerWheel can be engaging since it adds thrill to the classroom dynamic. It can be used in physical classroom or online settings.

Respect for privacy Privacy evaluations indicate how a tool handles personal data collection, storage, and sharing, including GDPR compliance and security measures, among others. The ICT-REV team provides them for informational purposes, reflecting our best understanding at the time of review, but assumes no legal responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of these evaluations and encourages users to conduct their own assessments: High. PickerWheel does not ask for any personal data, but collects cookies with user content. User data is used for operational purposes and stored only until necessary for that. It has security measures in place, including the use of SSL encryption. It does not willingly collect information from anyone under 13 years of age.
