Respect for privacy
Does the tool require registration? Who can see my data? Can I remain anonymous?
Medium. Zygomatic, the developer of WordClouds, collects data such as IP addresses, internet browser information, and device details. This is to ensure the functioning and security of the website, as well as other legitimate purposes. Zygomatic allows advertising and shares data with third parties who may use this data to display personalised ads. For that, however, users have to accept cookies - in case they do not, users are shown non-targeted ads. Zygomatic mentions taking appropriate security measures to protect personal data and retains personal data for as long as users are registered or visit the site, or for a maximum of 26 months. It acknowledges users’ right to access, modify, or delete their data, as well as request data exports. Zygomatic does not explicitly state compliance with the GDPR. See more here.
Saving work for future use
Possiblity to save your or others´ work for reuse/reproduction
No, but users can download and share word clouds.
Tailorability (If so, how?)
Possibility of the tool to be used for a range of different activities (e.g. to what extent you can organize a project assignment with a central activity based on this tool)
Not much; WordClouds can be used just to create word clouds and there are not that many customisable features.
