Towards the ECML Programme 2028–2031

The European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) is currently preparing its 8th medium-term programme (2028–2031). A key milestone in this process will be the Call for project proposals, to be launched in 2027. Language education experts in ECML member states will be invited to submit project proposals aligned with the themes published in the Call, which will be based on priorities in ECML member states.

The focus is on gathering and analysing information on longer-term priorities and needs in ECML member states via a survey (October/November); preparatory work on the formal framework of the Call will begin.

The Call for project proposals will be published in May and remain open over the summer; submissions will be evaluated in September and presented to the Governing Board in October. By the end of the year, successful project coordinators will be informed and invited to an online meeting. The full programme 2028-2031 will be adopted by the Governing Board.

The ECML’s new medium-term programme (2028–2031) will be officially launched.
