Liveworksheets

Principal function(s): Quiz/exercise makers

Liveworksheets is a tool that allows teachers to create interactive worksheets for various subjects and topics. Teachers upload traditional print worksheets in PDF or as Word documents, and can then transform these into interactive exercises using different formats such as multiple choice, drag and drop or join the arrows, which can include audio or video. They can also create speaking exercises where students record themselves using the tool’s microphone feature. A variety of worksheets already created by other users can also be accessed. Liveworksheets offers both free and premium features. Teachers need to sign up for an account to create Liveworksheets, but no account is needed to access and use others’ worksheets. Registered users can save their creations, track student progress, and access additional features to enhance their teaching experience. Evaluation: Liveworksheets is a useful tool for creating interactive exercises for students and making learning more fun and enjoyable. Parents and homeschooling educators can also use it to create customised learning materials. Given the many different options available, however, teachers must make sure to select an appropriate format for each learning activity. Average IT skills required.

Playphrase (Tool to find the pronunciation of words from movies )

Playphrase is a tool that searches specific words or phrases out of movie snippets from a database of audiovisual media with over 60,000 phrases. In this manner, it provides real-life examples of words’ and sentences’ pronunciation. Users just have to type specific phrases, watch them being used naturally in context within popular movies and TV shows, and listen to their pronunciation. Playphrase works mainly with English. Playphrase is not open-source, but it is freely available. It does not require setting up an account or signing in. ... View details
