Language for Work is a European learning network for professionals teaching the language of the host country to migrants and ethnic minorities in work-related contexts. The network helps members share and develop their practice.

Contribution to the project

Alexander Braddell has over ten years experience in workplace basic skills (including langauge training). He has worked in the UK at local, regional and national levels with public, voluntary and private sector organisations in a variety of roles, including consultancy, research and evaluation, project management, authoring/editing (both paper and web-based), professional development (particularly around workplace teaching and learning), external moderation of learning programmes, development, delivery and management of workplace learning programmes.  He has expertise in the theory and practice of on-the-job learning and in-depth knowledge of the health and social care and business services sectors.

As subject matter expert he was involved in the design, development and updating of Care Skillsbase (www.scie-careskillsbase.org.uk), a national web-based communication and number skills resource for care sector employers, for the UK Social Care Institute for Excellence and the agency responsible for skills in the adult social care workforce, Skills for Care.
