Usability
Interface
User-friendliness/complexity of the tool´s interface
Modern, neat, intuitive.
Time efficiency
Time needed for mastering the „how-to“ of the tool and a production of a task
High; it takes 5–10 minutes to set up a robust bot, which then may save much time.
Interface language(s)
The number of languages in which the tool is currently available/adaptable to
English or French, but activities can be created in over 50 languages.
Respect for privacy
Does the tool require registration? Who can see my data? Can I remain anonymous?
High. Mizou does not require students to sign up or have an account to interact with chatbots, ensuring that no personal information is tracked or collected from them by default during participation. However, teachers must create an account and provide professional identification data, including name, email, and position, which is retained for the duration of use, plus a period of up to five years. The platform uses connection logs (IP addresses) and cookies for operational and statistical purposes, but it explicitly guarantees that no personal data is sold or transferred to third parties or commercial partners. Voice recordings are stored for a maximum of six months, while text transcriptions are kept for five years, though Mizou acknowledges users’ right to access, copy, rectify, object to the process, limit, and delete personal data at any time. It complies with the GDPR under the supervision of the French CNIL. See more here.
Saving work for future use
Possiblity to save your or others´ work for reuse/reproduction
Yes: teachers with an account can save their bot configurations and student interaction logs within their dashboard.
Tailorability (If so, how?)
Possibility of the tool to be used for a range of different activities (e.g. to what extent you can organize a project assignment with a central activity based on this tool)
High: teachers can largely customize their chatbots through criteria such as "strictness," language level (CEFR alignment), and the Knowledge File.
