On 20 January 2026, members of the project team contributed to the Winter School on Artificial Intelligence for Language Learning, Teaching, and Assessment at the University for Foreigners of Perugia with a presentation on the responsible use of artificial intelligence in language education.

The event provided an important opportunity for exchange with teachers, researchers, policymakers, and publishers. All of whom were engaged in current debates on AI in education. We warmly thank Letizia Cinganotto for the invitation and the fruitful collaboration.

During the session, the team presented recent developments of the ECML AI for language education project (AI Lang), with particular attention to the ethical framework underpinning AI use in language education and concrete classroom practices illustrated through the AI Lang Moodle course and enriched with lesson plan examples from the TRAILS Erasmus+ project. 
We would like to thank all participants for the engaged and insightful discussions.
