On 1-2 December 2025, the expert team of the ECML CLILMat project met once again in Graz to reflect on our progress, build on what we have learned, and plan the next steps in our shared journey. A special highlight of the meeting was welcoming our new ECML programme consultant, Lukas Bleichenbacher, whose expertise, and fresh perspectives have already enriched our discussions.
As the CLILMat project approaches the end of its second year, we are thrilled to share an important milestone: our core materials are now ready for translation into German! This means that during 2026, teachers will find on the ECML website:
- the Teacher’s Guide (in English and German),
- the Design Principles for creating your own SDG focused CLIL materials (in English and German),
- the Glossary of key concepts (in English and German),
- 16 sets of lesson ideas in English,
- 2 sets of lesson ideas in German,
- clear descriptions of all lesson sets in both English and German.
These resources aim to support teachers in bringing the Sustainable Development Goals to life in their CLIL classrooms, offering adaptable ideas for diverse contexts, learner profiles, and subject areas.
To give all these materials a permanent online home, we will be developing a dedicated project website in close collaboration with the ECML’s web developer. The team has already begun gathering ideas for an accessible, visually inviting, and teacher friendly platform. We are genuinely excited about the directions that this digital home may take and the possibilities it will open for classroom use, professional development, and community exchange.
Looking ahead, we also planned our dissemination activities. These will include a hands on workshop and a forthcoming article that will showcase the project’s results and practical insights. We look forward to connecting with many of you through these activities – your experiences, questions, and creativity continue to inspire the work we do.
Stay tuned for more updates as we move into this next phase – 2026 promises to be an exciting year for the CLILMat community!
