On 8-9 October 2025, Aline Germain-Rutherford and Jackie Robbins, experts of the ECML's ICT-REV project, represented two ECML projects at the Council of Europe's 3rd Working Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Education in Strasbourg, France.

As part of the Policy Lab on Education, they presented both the AI for Language Education project (coordinated by Achilleas Kostoulas) and the ICT-REV project that they coordinate. These projects promote the effective, responsible, and ethical integration of AI and ICT tools in language teaching and learning. They shared insights from workshops where language educators across Europe participate, highlighting key challenges and opportunities in maintaining teacher and learner agency in the age of artificial intelligence.

This participation demonstrates how ECML expertise is contributing to broader European policy dialogue on quality education, digital citizenship, and the responsible use of technology in classrooms—bringing the voice of language educators to the heart of policy development at the Council of Europe.
