Welcome to the Inventory of freely available online tools, developed within the framework of the ICT REV project of the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML). bubbl.us, a tool for creating mind maps

Mind mapping

Description: Bubbl.us is a tool for creating, saving, and sharing mind maps. Users can collaborate with others in real-time, customize their mind maps, and export them. Bubbl.us offers a limited free version, allowing users to create up to three mind maps. It requires setting up an account but not installation.

Evaluation: Bubbl.us can be a useful and valuable tool since it offers visual support for language learning and teaching. For example, learners can place relevant vocabulary on a mind map and highlight relationships between concepts in an intuitive manner. This can foster creativity and critical thinking, as well as brainstorming when working in groups. Teachers can employ Bubbl.us to visually represent complex topics and facilitate discussions.
