Babadada

Principal function(s): Autonomous learning

Babadada is a multilingual visual dictionary that offers basic vocabulary in more than 200 languages and dialects, including languages such as Romani, Karelian or Chuvash. Babadada is based on a visual learning method and works by providing translations accompanied by corresponding images. Vocabulary is divided into topics such as school, food, or transport. The tool was developed by the Babadada GmbH company. It does not require installation or setting up an account. Evaluation: Babadada is a valuable tool for learners who want to consolidate and expand their vocabulary in a foreign language. It can be used by language learners, travellers, and educators looking for an engaging and practical way to teach vocabulary. Babadada’s approach can be very useful since it provides illustrations and audio pronunciations to accompany translations. This feature helps learners associate words and phrases with visual cues and pronunciations, making it easier to remember and use them in conversations. It is also time-saving as users do not have to spend hours looking up words in a dictionary. Babadada is easy to use and requires minimal IT skills.
