TedEd

Principal function(s): Autonomous learning

TedEd is an online educational platform that creates interactive lessons with informative videos on a wide range of topics. It consists of TedEd animations which are short videos designed to enhance students’ learning with presentations from a variety of experts such as educators, historians and journalists. Each of these animated videos is accompanied by questions and other resources to be integrated into lessons. Evaluation: A useful tool for a flipped-classroom approach. Use one of the TedEd videos provided on their website or choose one of your own. Each video is customisable, and thus can accompanying questions and discussion topics be tailored to the lesson. The interface is easy to use and completely free.
