EclipseCrossword

Principal function(s): Crossword puzzle creators

EclipseCrossword is a software tool for creating crossword puzzles. It allows users to input words and clues, then generates a crossword puzzle grid automatically. EclipseCrossword was developed by Green Eclipse Software and is available for free. It requires installing to create them but not setting up an account. Evaluation: EclipseCrossword tool is an easy-to-use tool with clear instructions and a simple interface. It also has a comprehensive ‘Help’ link. Crosswords can be created quickly and easily and students can access them directly via web browser. It can be used for educational or recreational purposes, enhancing linguistic skills such as vocabulary and problem-solving. It is only available for Microsoft. Basic IT skills required.

Medium/high. EclipseCrossword collects and stores data shared by guests. It also employs cookies to operate the service, but only for necessary purposes, such as remembering users’ settings, or learning how people use the service so as to improve it. It does not use cookies to track users outside of their services. EclipseCrossoword does not share personal information with anyone, unless required by law. User data is not used to train any AI models. Users can ask to delete their user data. EclipseCrossword is operated by Green Eclipse in the State of Washington, United States, so regional laws apply. Playphrase is a tool that searches specific words or phrases out of movie snippets from a database of audiovisual media with over 60,000 phrases. In this manner, it provides real-life examples of words’ and sentences’ pronunciation.
