What is the state of language learning in Europe today? In this insightful podcast by the European Association for International Education (EAIE), Susanna Slivensky, Deputy Director of the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) of the Council of Europe, and Gerit Jaritz, a team member of the ECML project “Fostering the plurilingual wellbeing of language teachers“ (Pluriwell) – speak with Laura Rumbley (EAIE) about language education and in particular about the role of English. They highlight the importance of supporting regional and minority languages, as well as the contribution of plurilingual and intercultural education to democratic culture.
