Call for workshops in 2022
The European Centre for Modern Languages of the Council of Europe together with the European Commission are pleased to announce the launch of a new round of workshops within the joint action on “Innovative Methodologies and Assessment in Language Learning”.
Since its launch in 2013, this action has delivered 127 workshops in 32 countries. The ECML-EU partnership is highlighted within the European Council’s 2019 Recommendation on a comprehensive approach to the teaching and learning of languages.
The new round of the action involving two initiatives, RELANG - Relating language curricula, tests and examinations to the Common European Framework of Reference and Supporting Multilingual Classrooms, focusing on the linguistic integration of migrant learners in schools across Europe, will offer a total of 18 national workshops between mid-March and mid-December 2022 to member states of the European Union and of the European Centre for Modern Languages.
States are invited to indicate their interest in receiving a workshop in one or both of the initiatives by completing the request form by Wednesday, 16 February 2022 at the latest. In view of the ongoing pandemic, workshops will be delivered in a combination of online and face-to-face formats.
Details of the different workshop modules available, which will be tailored to the national context and target groups, are available on the following pages:

States applying are also asked to indicate in the form the name and contact details of a local coordinator who will have overall responsibility for the organisation of the workshop and who, ideally, is able to participate in an online preparatory network meeting. The network meetings will take place on 7 March 2022 (morning) for RELANG and on 11 March 2022 (morning) for Supporting Multilingual Classrooms.
The overall coordination of the action is ensured by the Council of Europe, through the secretariat of the European Centre for Modern Languages.
