Trivialang

Trivialang is a mobile app that allows learners to put their language skills to the test. Players choose from English, French, or German and then answer a series of questions before time’s up. It's a great way for them to have fun while learning languages.

In Trivialang there are:
  • More than 15,000 questions
  • More than 1000 audios and images
  • 3 languages to practise
  • 10 levels
  • 17 badges to win
The questions on Trivialang have been written by expert teachers in each language. The categories are: grammar, vocabulary, communication, and culture.

Players challenge each other and try to win as many matches as they can to move up levels, from ‘Beginner’ to a full-fledged ‘Professor’. And if learners prefer not to play against another person, they can always answer questions on their own in practice mode.

Evaluation: This is a very straightforward app. Learners can download it, install it on their smartphones or tablets, choose the language they would like to practise, and begin playing immediately.

The games are quick. In the question combo mode, players are given 7 questions. The one who answers the most correctly or who answers them the quickest is the winner. In the against the clock mode, the player who answers the most questions correctly in 90 seconds is the winner.

In sum, Trivialang is a fun way for learners to practise their skills in English, French, or German on the fly and to test their knowledge of the culture of the areas in the world where those languages are spoken.
