Principal function(s): Translation tool

Reverso is a website and an app that offers different linguistic tools such as translation, spell-checker, dictionary, conjugation, synonym, pronunciation and grammar feature. It is currently available in 14 languages. If you enter a word or a phrase into the ReversoContext, it offers you external sources where it shows examples of the word/phrase being used in context in both languages. You can also add Reverso as an extension to your browser and directly import content from the web.

Evaluation: Reverso is a useful tool for learning vocabulary in context. It allows learners to learn new words after seeing them in a sentence and not as isolated words. You can also import articles, documents or other content over to Reverso. If you register, you are able to save words and expressions you looked for in Reverso. After saving them, there is an option to practice them in the app and follow your progress.

Cost: Free without registration. If you register, you are able to save words.
