Genially

Principal function(s): Poster/infographic creatorsSlide presenting

Genially is a web-based tool for creating interactive and visually appealing presentations, infographics, and other visual content. Users can create multimedia content by adding text, images, videos, animations, and interactive elements to their Genially projects. These projects can then be shared online or embedded into websites or presentations. It also provides pre-made templates that facilitate and speed up the creation process easier. Genially was developed by a team of designers and developers based in Spain. While Genially offers both free and paid plans, it is not open-source. Users are required to sign up for an account to access the platform and create content. Evaluation: Genially is a valuable and engaging resource for making presentations, infographics, along with other types of content. It can be used for various purposes, including educational presentations or interactive storytelling. While it does not specifically target linguistic skills, it can be used to enhance presentations and materials that involve language learning or communication. Genially’s interface is user-friendly. A disadvantage is that the content created cannot be downloaded with the free version, although it can be edited and accessed by other users. Average IT skills required.
