Canva

Principal function(s): Poster/infographic creators

Canva is an online graphic design platform that allows users to create a variety of graphics, such as posters, flyers, social media posts, and presentations. To do so, users can access Canva's library of templates, stock photos, illustrations, icons, and fonts. Canva also offers collaboration features, allowing multiple users to work on the same project simultaneously. Canva was developed by Melanie Perkins, Cliff Obrecht, and Cameron Adams. While it offers a free version with limited features, it also provides subscription-based plans with additional functionalities tailored for schools and educators. Signing up for an account is required to use Canva's services, although basic features are accessible without an account. Evaluation: Canva is a valuable and easy-to-use resource for creating any type of digital content. Its interface has a clear layout and is user-friendly, while users can retrieve templates and images from an extensive default library, together with choosing from a range of fonts, symbols, and filters. Cava can foster creativity and encourage users to express their ideas visually, making it a valuable tool for both learners and educators in various fields. Moreover, it allows for collaborative work. Canva does not require advanced IT skills, as its drag-and-drop functionality makes it accessible to users with varying levels of technical proficiency.
