Flipgrid

Principal function(s): Virtual Exchange

Flipgrid is an interactive video sharing platform for educational use. Teachers create a group on their profile which their students then join. They then can post different discussion topics which students can respond to in the form of short videos of up to 5 minutes. Students can also reply to one another, creating a wider discussion. Flipgrid Inc. is a Microsoft subsidiary. It offers both free and paid versions, with the free version providing basic features. Signing up for an account is required. Evaluation: Flipgrid is a valuable and easy-to-use tool with a straightforward interface. Flipgrid can be very helpful for distance or hybrid learning arrangements, and it can foster engagement and collaboration. Average IT skills required.

However, it does not use this data to market or advertise non-Microsoft products or services, or to track and target advertisements on third-party websites or services. It shares some data with third parties with the purpose of analysing cookies. Flipgrid uses security measures, although these are not specified. Playphrase (Tool to find the pronunciation of words from movies )

Playphrase is a tool that searches specific words or phrases out of movie snippets from a database of audiovisual media with over 60,000 phrases. In this manner, it provides real-life examples of words’ and sentences’ pronunciation.
