About this collection

This work is a collection of websites related to teaching and learning Croatian as well as giving an overview of Croatian culture and civilisation. Due to the fact that Croatian is the native language of only 4 000 000 people and is spoken only in Croatia and some parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there is only a limited number of websites related to the teaching and learning Croatian. However, many interesting and useful sites have been singled out and put together to form a transparent overview of Croatian language, culture and civilization. This collection has been divided in two main parts, based on the kind of information they provide.
The first part "General Information about Croatia" contains a list of commented websites about geographical facts, history, culture, media, political structure and government in Croatia. It also gives an overview of Croatian search engines and Internet providers.
The second part comprises various websites that provide information on teaching and learning the Croatian language. Firstly there is some general information about the language followed by links on subjects such as "Ministry of Education", "Institutions promoting the Croatian language", collections of websites about Croatian, online dictionaries and grammars, exercises, tests and more.
