The Canadian Centre for Resources on Language Teaching (CCREL) is a site which aims at providing references deal with research works on the teaching of French as a second language in Canada. CCREL was developed by the Simon Fraser University in Vancouver and realised in cooperation with the Ministry for the Canadian Patrimony and Rescol.

The Modern Languages in Primary Schools Initiative (MLPSI) The Modern Languages in Primary Schools Initiative (MLPSI)

The Modern Languages in Primary Schools Initiative (MLPSI) supports the teaching and learning of modern languages at primary level in Ireland. Currently over 500 schools are part of this voluntary project and they offer modern language provision in Italian, Spanish, German or French. The MLPSI provides a comprehensive support service for teachers and schools through language-specific CPD, Induction Days for new teachers, Principals’ Seminars, Whole Staff presentations and other training events. We also host an extensive catalogue of on-line resources which has been developed by the MLPSI team specifically for the Irish primary context.

The big myth The big myth

The Big Myth is a new experimental learning module designed for use in European primary school classrooms funded by grants from the Socrates Fund of the European Commission, the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Sciences and Kennisnet.
It is a sociology textbook for the comparative study of world creation mythology. The myths are told using Flash animation and are accompanied by an overview of the culture, the pantheon of the gods and a series of exercises based on that culture.
