Contact for the European Day of Languages (EDL)

The function of a national EDL Relay is to act as a multiplier for organisations, schools and associations, circulating: information communicated by the Council of Europe (for example the press release of the Council on the Day, which the Relays are invited to translate into national/local languages, updates on the website); promotional materials - posters, stickers etc. provided by the Council of Europe every year in significant quantities for event organisers.

Léargas

Léargas is Ireland's National Agency for the management of national, European and international co-operation programmes involving Education and Lifelong Learning, Vocational Education and Training, Youth and Community Work, and Guidance in Education. The agency manages transnational programmes in the areas of primary and secondary level education and provides information and guidance on these programmes.

Education Service of Léargas

The Education Service of Léargas works to promote the values and benefits of building links with Europe for those working and learning at all levels of education - from schools & communities to universities & institutes.

In addition to its role as contact point for the European Centre for Modern Languages, the Education Service of Léargas provides a valuable service to language teachers by, for example, facilitating access to programmes such as Comenius and Grundtvig.

Ireland is entitled to nominate one participant , whose expenses will be covered by the ECML. If you wish to apply for nomination for the above workshop, please complete the application for nomination form and return to nwoods@leargas.ie by the specified date on the project description.
