ECML Programme 2012-2015

About the project "ECML publications for plurilingual and intercultural education in use"

Project results

What was the project about?

PIU disseminates ECML publications for plurilingual and intercultural education to language professionals and provides realistic implementation plans for interested users.

Abstract

For this 2-year-project, a team of four European language institutions will work together on the mediation of a selection of ECML publications for plurilingual and intercultural education.

The project team is striving for a better recognition and wider use of the publications chosen. For a deeper understanding of these publications, the original project teams or the follow-up project teams will be consulted. The project wishes to fully support ECML’s expected outcomes of the 2012-2015 programme by contributing to:

  • the promotion of inclusive, plurilingual and intercultural pedagogic approaches
  • initiating and supporting dialogue between professionals in the field of language teaching and learning
  • the awareness-raising related to the ECML long-term vision, i.e. bringing the learner into the foreground and promoting the learner’s right to quality education.

In the centre of this mediation project is a 3-day-workshop for designing realistic implementation schemes with language teacher trainers, who in their function as multipliers, can best feed outcomes and outputs of ECML products directly into plurilingual and intercultural education.

In addition, ECML National Contact Points, ECML project teams, EFNIL, INNLAC and FIPVL will complement our dissemination strategy.

This project was run within the ECML's Learning through languages programme.
